The Woman I Am …

For years, I fought my own natural tendencies. I attempted to focus on one task at a time, fighting through the boredom that always set in. I worked the hours that were dictated, rather than when I was most productive. I did what I was expected to do and puzzled at my unhappiness.

But with maturity came the sheer joy of acceptance. Now I read several books at once, running with my interest and need at any given time. I work for myself, a venture that allows me the freedom to jump out of bed at 3 a.m. to pursue a ‘great idea’, and to do housecleaning or some other brain numbing activity during the 2 p.m. low. This “unstructure” jives with my personal work ethic, allowing me to work when I am productive rather than as dictated, increasing my productivity tenfold.

When working, I work on two or three tasks at a time, running with the inspiration that has me focused on one task for an hour or a day, before moving on to another. And through the use of personally developed tracking tools, I take great pride in knowing I will complete them all.

I stand firmly behind my belief that I am no better or worse than any other. I believe we are all capable of great things. Once we decide to accept who we are and how we do things, that is.

I love you!
